Spring has finally sprung! and now is the perfect time to create your own willow obelisk to support your plants as they grow.
This half-day workshop is the perfect introduction for beginners wanting to have a go at willow weaving. It is also suitable for intermediate willow weavers.
Weaving with willow can be tough on the hands and requires some strength to work with so is unsuitable for those who suffer from arthritis or other conditions that effect the hands.
All materials and tools provided.

Course Details
This rectangular basket teaches a variety of rush basketry techniques. You will learn different weave patterns to weave the rectangle base, before attaching to the forma to weave the sides which will be woven using a combination of weave patterns, pairing and reverse pairing before turning down the border.
You can choose to either make rush handles or add soft leather handles at an additional cost.
All materials and tools are provided

On this course you will learn how to make a willow bag using the Catalan weaving technique to create a base, two different weaving techniques for the sides before finishing the bag with leather handles and a simple trac border.

On this one day course you will learn to weave a round base, before adding uprights to weave the side and border to make a shallow tray or taller basket for fruit etc.
You will be able to choose from a selection of willow on the day to weave the base of the basket making the design unique to you.
All materials and tools are provided, plus tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch.
